As part of the cooperation between the two customizing shows - Rat's Hole in the USA and SWISS-CUSTOM in Switzerland - launched in 2018, the Bobber Garage from Liechtenstein took part in the 78th edition of the legendary Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis with its anniversary bike SWISS-CUSTOM Monarch and competed against the elite of the US customizing scene. A six-member jury scrutinized more than 60 masterpieces of the “screwdriver art”. In the category “Over 1000cc radical”, the SWISS-CUSTOM Monarch by Reini Servello from Bobber garage fully achieved to convince and secured a sensational first place. The jurors were enthu-siastic about the very carefully copperplated and special engraved Knucklehead engine from 1936, the milled and unique wheel rims and the handmade exhaust system. The revolutionary painting technique by Marcus Pfeil, which can illuminate individual color particles at the press of a button, provided rows of open mouths. Icing on the cake was the Choice Award discerned by the VIP jury of Count's Kustoms from Las Vegas. The customizers celebrated by the television designated the SWISS-CUSTOM monarch most beautiful bike of the entire Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show.
Reini Servello could hardly believe his good luck: “An award from the Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show is regarded as a veritable Oscar in the customizing scene, because it was in this land of unlimited possibilities that the foundation stone for the art of customization was laid. We are incredibly proud of having been able to convince the American jury with our bike and of having prevailed against the huge competition.”
In 2019, customizers from Europe will again have the chance to win one of the coveted Rat's Hole Trophies, as the organizers of the Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show will take a close look at the mo-torcycles exhibited at the SWISS-CUSTOM Bike Show 2019 and attribute one of their much sought-after awards. Applications will be accepted until 5 January 2019 at www.swiss-moto.ch/bikeshow. After an initial selection round, fifty individual bikes will be selected for the SWISS-CUSTOM Bike Show and elaborately highlighted at the SWISS-MOTO Motorcycle, Scooter and Tuning Show that will take place at Messe Zürich from 21 to 24 February 2019.
